Dual premiership-winning Manly hooker Matt Ballin might have played his last game for the NRL club, with the veteran suffering a suspected ACL injury in the loss to Parramatta on Sunday.

The 31-year-old will have scans on Monday after he was assisted from Brookvale Oval in the second half of the 20-16 upset loss to the Eels which all but rules the Sea Eagles out of finals contention.

Manly face the competition leaders the Sydney Roosters at home on Friday and will be desperate to have Ballin on board.

"We're all hoping Matty will be OK and will be right for next week. It's a big game for us," Sea Eagles lock Blake Leary told AAP.

The gutsy hooker suffered the injury to his left knee early in the first half, forcing him off the ground to be examined by medical staff before he returned to the field.

He collapsed without a hand being laid on him with about 30 minutes remaining and was assisted from the ground by a trainers after refusing to be loaded onto the stretcher.

Ballin, who won competitions in 2008 and 2011 with Manly, confirmed earlier this year he was one of the several Sea Eagles told his services would not be required next season and he's been linked with a move to South Sydney.

The Queenslander signed a two-year extension with Manly in April and said he wants to remain at the Sea Eagles despite being tapped on the shoulder.
